Making a Statement in a Townhome

In early 2020, the Rohl family was ready for a change. While the family of three enjoyed their 3,000 square-foot home in the Lake Tapps area, they were ready to trade it in for a new lifestyle – ideally, for something centrally located, stylish, and with access to great schools and the great outdoors.

They found everything they were looking for in a brand-new townhome in Tri Pointe Homes’ Aurea community, located in Sammamish.

“I’d always had my eye on the Sammamish area; it’s a family-friendly location and central to Bellevue and Redmond,” said Matt. “Plus, our townhome had all the benefits and features we would’ve picked out ourselves, with smart technology and great design.”

Interior design is a passion of Marsjon’s. She added drama and sophistication with a black and white interior color palette complemented by the home’s built-in design features, like the white waterfall countertop in the kitchen, and matte black iron staircase railings.

“What’s great is that everything’s been very turnkey, which is what we wanted,” said Matt. “We haven’t had to switch out tiles or carpet, or make major changes. The beautiful backdrop was there, and we got to add our own flair to it."

Their 10-year-old daughter Sjoni loves her playroom, which has become her virtual classroom. “It’s been the perfect thing for the switch to virtual school, since it was built as a flex space that would be a perfect office, with everything ready to go,” said Matt. Marsjon loves the shorter commute to her work in Bellevue. And Matt’s favorite spot? The family living spaces.

“I love how everything’s interconnected,” says Matt. “I love the layout of our kitchen area, and the living room and TV area, because that’s where we have all of our family time – where we relax and kick back together. That space speaks volumes when it comes to family.”
